Baked Banana Dessert Omelet (Tortilla De Banana)

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a skillet; saute the bananas for 5 minutes, shaking the pan frequently.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Beat the egg yolks, salt, and cream until light.
  5. Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry; fold into yolk mixture.
  6. Butter a 1 1/2 quart baking dish with the remaining butter; turn the mixture into it.
  7. Arrange the sauteed bananas on top.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Quickly sprinkle the sugar on top and bake 5 minutes longer, or until set.
  10. Serve immediately.
