Anja's Cinnamon Cardamom Buns Recipe
- 8 ounce Strong plain flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 ounce Butter or possibly margarine
- 1 env active dry yeast
- 4 fl ounce Lowfat milk, warmed
- 1 x Egg, beaten Melted butter
- 2 ounce Sugar
- 2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Grnd cardamom
- 1 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Water
- Grease a 7" square cake tin.
- Sieve Flour and salt into hot bowl.
- Run in fat finely.
- Fold in dry yeast then add in lowfat milk and beaten egg.
- Mix and knead to soft elastic dough.
- Cover and put to ride till doubled.
- Knock back and roll dough to oblong 12" x 9".
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar mixed with spices.
- Roll up from the longest side.
- Seal edge with water and cut into nine slices.
- Place cut side down into tin.
- Prove till puffy, then bake at 375F, 190C for 30 min.
- Brush with sugar glaze while warm.
- Turn out and pull apart.
- NOTES : My favourite!
- Freezes quite well too
