Brownies Oct 1997 Recipe
- 1 c. Less 1 tbs sugar*
- 1 Tbsp. Brown sugar
- 3 x Large eggs, ( recipe calls for 2 lge)
- 8 ounce Semi sweet chocolate bar, shredded
- 1/4 lb Unsalted butter
- 1/4 c. All purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/4 c. More grated semi sweet chocolate
- 1/4 c. Minced walnuts
- 1 pch Salt.
- The changes I made
- Butter an 8" square pan.
- pre heat oven to 375.

- In a large bowl beat sugars , Large eggs and salt for 15 min, till very pale.
- It has got to be 15 min( i did it in my stand up mixer)
- 2.
- Heat 8 ounce chocolate with butter in a double boiler, remove just before totally melted, finish off the heat stirring till chocolate is completely melted.
- 3.
- Stir in vanilla and let cold to lukewarm
- 4.Fold gently into Large eggs and add in the rest of the chocolat.
- 5.
- Mix in the flour and the walnuts and pour into prepared pan set in the middle of the oven.
- 6.
- Bake 20 min.
- 7.
- Remove to a rack let cold 6 hrs
- Original recipe: uses 1 c. white sugar, no brown sugar no walnuts 1 c miniature chocolate chips are added in place of the walnuts and the grated chocolate which I added at the end.
- calls for 5 ounce best quality semi sweet chocolate plus 3 ounce unsweetened chocolate You may bake 30 min if desired them dryer.
