Tampa's Own Fish Chowder*
- 1 pound fish fillets
- 1/2 cup chicken breast halves, boneless, skinless cooked, diced
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 cup potatoes diced
- 23 cup onions chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/4 cup carrots diced
- 1 tablespoon celery diced
- 1 each lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 18 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon dill weed ground
- 2 cups light cream (half&half)
- 2 cups water hot
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger ground
- Fry bacon and remove from pan.
- Add onions and garlic to drippings.
- Saute until tender but not browned.
- Add the water, potatos, carrots, celery, and paprika.
- Cook until the potatos are almsot done.
- Cut fish into 1 inch squares.
- Add seasonings and fish at the same time.
- Cook until fish becomes flaky.
- Pour in the Half and Half and stir well.
- NOTE*.
- you may add 2 Tblspns of a dry white wine to this as well.
