Beef With Peanuts Recipe
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound grnd round steak
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn peas, partially thawed
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tbsp. sherry
- 1/3 c. chicken broth
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 c. bean sprouts
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. dry roasted peanuts
- 2-3 c. warm cooked rice
- Heat oil with salt in wok.
- Add in grnd meat and stir fry over high heat till no longer pink.
- Add in peas and stir fry for 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle with sugar.
- Add in sherry and cook, stirring for 1 minute.
- Add in broth or possibly water and cover.
- Steam for 2-3 min, stirring occasionally.
- When peas are tender, add in soy sauce and bean sprouts.
- Add in dissolved cornstarch and stir till thickened.
- Stir in peanuts.
- Serve over warm cooked rice.
- Serves 4-6.
- Variation: Use sirloin strip steak or possibly stir fry steak.
