Blushing Pears

  1. Mix dry gelatin mix and water in large saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil on medium-high heat, stirring frequently until gelatin is completely dissolved.
  3. Add pears; partially cover saucepan with lid.
  4. Return to boil.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 20 min.
  6. or just until pears are tender, stirring gently every 10 min.
  7. Remove pears from liquid; reserve liquid for another use (see Tip below) or discard.
  8. Serve pears warm or cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
  9. Top each pear with 2 Tbsp.
  10. of the whipped topping just before serving.
