Blushing Pears
- 2 pkg. (4-serving size each) JELL-O Raspberry Flavor Gelatin
- 1 qt. (4 cups) water
- 4 firm ripe pears, such as Bosc, Bartlett or Anjou, peeled
- 1/2 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- Mix dry gelatin mix and water in large saucepan.
- Bring to boil on medium-high heat, stirring frequently until gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Add pears; partially cover saucepan with lid.
- Return to boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 20 min.
- or just until pears are tender, stirring gently every 10 min.
- Remove pears from liquid; reserve liquid for another use (see Tip below) or discard.
- Serve pears warm or cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Top each pear with 2 Tbsp.
- of the whipped topping just before serving.
