BBQ Baste

  1. Preheat grill or side burner.
  2. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add shallots and garlic and cook until soft, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  4. Add vinegar and reduce by half.
  5. Add remaining ingredients, stir and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Transfer mixture to blender and blend until smooth.
  8. Return mixture to a clean saucepan and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened.
  9. Season with salt and pepper.
  10. Let cool to room temperature.
