Shiso Omusubi with Chicken Karaage For Cherry Blossom Parties & Picnics

  1. I use frozen chicken karaage and heated following the instructions on the back of the packet.
  2. Add shredded shiso leaves, yukari powder and toasted sesame seeds to the warm cooked rice and stir.
  3. Divide the rice into 4 portions and shape into triangles like usual omusubi.
  4. Press each chicken karaage into a corner and press the rice to hold its nice shape.
  5. Allow a bit of karaage to stick out.
  6. Wrap each omusubi with a shiso leaf and it's done!
  7. Variation Use chicken nuggets instead.
