Chicken Karaage With Nagaimo Yam and Daikon Radish Sauce
- 800 grams Chicken meat
- 2 tbsp Cooking sake
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tsp Grated ginger
- 1 Katakuriko
- 1 for frying Vegetable oil
- 300 ml Water
- 150 ml Mentsuyu (3x concentrate)
- 1 tbsp Mirin
- 150 ml Grated daikon radish
- 100 ml Grated nagaimo yam
- Marinade the chicken for at least 1 hour.
- Put the water, mentsuyu and mirin in a pan and bring to a boil.
- Switch off the heat and add the grated daikon radish and nagaimo yam, and mix well.
- Put the marinated chicken and katakuriko in a plastic bag and shake to coat the chicken evenly.
- Deep fry at 180C until crispy.
- Put the fried chicken on a serving dish and pour the sauce over it.
- Delicious with some yuzu pepper or grated ginger too!
