Crusty Nutmeg Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix topping ingredients; set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  4. Beat again.
  5. Combine sour cream and sode in separate bowl; stir into butter mixture.
  6. Add flour and nuts.
  7. Spoon mixture into greased and floured 9"x5" pans.
  8. Sprinkle with topping.
  9. Bake 45-50 minutes, until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in pans 10 minutes.
  11. Remove bread from pans and cool on wire racks.
