Spinach Pie - Borek (Turkish Food)

  1. Cut the spinach into 1 cm pieces and finely chop the onions.
  2. Heat some oil (not listed) in a pan and saute the onions.
  3. Add the spinach on top of the onions.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Continue stir-frying until crumbly.
  6. Mix the egg, milk, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  7. Grease a baking dish with oil and line with a spring roll wrapper.
  8. Brush the top with the egg mixture using a brush.
  9. Repeat this step 3 times.
  10. Shred up spring roll wrappers and top Step 5 with them.
  11. Coat well with the egg mixture.
  12. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 about 2 or 3 times.
  13. Top Step 6 with the mixture from Step 3, then smooth the surface.
  14. Top with cheese.
  15. Top with the remaining spring roll wrappers in the same manner as in Steps 5-6, then top the final layer with Step 4 egg mixture.
  16. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  17. Bake in an oven at 200C for about 20 minutes until the surface has browned.
