Banana Brownie-Bottom Cake
- 1 pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2-1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
- 4 eggs, divided
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3-1/2 cups flour, divided
- 1 cup mashed fully ripe bananas (about 3)
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min.
- or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
- Add 2 cups granulated sugar; mix well.
- Blend in 3 eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in 1 cup flour.
- Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake 15 min.
- Meanwhile, beat remaining egg, granulated sugar, bananas, brown sugar and oil in large bowl until blended.
- Mix remaining flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in separate bowl.
- Add to banana mixture; mix well.
- Spoon banana mixture over partially baked cake layer in pan; spread to evenly cover bottom layer.
- Bake 30 to 35 min.
- or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
