Elevator Lady Spice Cookies!

• 3/4 cup shortening (unsalted butter works too)
• One cup sugar
• One egg, beaten
• 1/4 cup molasses
• 2 cups flour
• 2 tsp.soda
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 3/4 tsp. powdered cloves
• 3/4 tsp. powdered ginger
• one tsp. Mace
• 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1. Mix together: shortening, sugar, beaten egg and molasses.
2. Stir following ingredients into the wet mixture, and mix well.
3. sugar, soda,.salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mace and the nutmeg.
4. Form into walnut-sized balls, place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets and bake at 3:50 degrees for 10 minutes.
5. Watch they don't burn.
