Walnut Apple Cake With Butter Sauce
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 12 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 12 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 34 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- walnut halves (optional)
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla; mix well(batter will be stiff).
- Stir in apples and walnuts,.
- Spread into a greased 13 x9- inch baking pan.
- Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes, or until cake tests done.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- For Sauce:.
- Combine sugar, flour, milk, and butter over medium heat.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Cut cake into squares; top with warm sauce.
- Garnish, if desired with walnut halves.
