Plum and Apple Brown Betty

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Mix bread crumbs, cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar until blended.
  3. Toss fruit with lemon juice and remaining sugar.
  4. Spoon 1/2 cup bread crumb mixture into 2-L casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray; cover with half the fruit mixture.
  5. Repeat layers.
  6. Bake 30 min.
  7. Meanwhile, combine remaining bread crumb mixture, nuts and margarine.
  8. Sprinkle nut mixture over dessert.
  9. Bake 15 to 20 min.
  10. or until fruit mixture is hot and bubbly, and topping is golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly.
  12. Mix cream cheese product and Cool Whip until blended.
  13. Serve spooned over individual servings of dessert.
