Biscochitos Sandoval Recipe
- 1 lb Lard or possibly vegetable shortening
- 1 c. Sugar
- 2 x Egg yolks
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 3 c. Flour
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Anise (liquid)
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- Cream lard or possibly shortening and sugar together.
- Beat in egg yolks one at a time.
- Fold in flour and baking pwder, then flavorings and lowfat milk.
- Roll out on floured board and cut in shapes.
- (the fleur-de-lis is traditional) "Bake by smell" Mrs Sandoval says.
- Try 375 for 10 - 12 min or possibly till they are golden.
