Grape Pie Recipe merlotgirl
- 4 cups of Concord Grapes( generous 2 1/2 cup with cooked and seeded pulp)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 1/2 tbsp butter melted
- Preparing grape filing; Slip skins from grapes, set skins aside.
- Place the pulp in a large pot and bring to a boiling point; whisking to seperate pulp from seeds.Reduce heat, simmer 5 minutes whisking.
- Press through a food mill to remove seeds.
- Place pulp back into large pot and add skins.
- Combine sugar, flour and salt.
- Add lemon juice, butter & grape pulp.
- Add grape filling to your favorite pie shell, Cover with pastry, vent.
- Place in a 400 degree oven for about 15 mins.
- then reduce oven to 350 and bake for 35 mins or until golden brown.
