Grape Pie Recipe merlotgirl

  1. Preparing grape filing; Slip skins from grapes, set skins aside.
  2. Place the pulp in a large pot and bring to a boiling point; whisking to seperate pulp from seeds.Reduce heat, simmer 5 minutes whisking.
  3. Press through a food mill to remove seeds.
  4. Place pulp back into large pot and add skins.
  5. Combine sugar, flour and salt.
  6. Add lemon juice, butter & grape pulp.
  7. Add grape filling to your favorite pie shell, Cover with pastry, vent.
  8. Place in a 400 degree oven for about 15 mins.
  9. then reduce oven to 350 and bake for 35 mins or until golden brown.
