How to Deliciously Boil Edamame

  1. Use kitchen scissors to cut off the ends of the edamame.
  2. Cutting off the ends helps them soak up the salt.
  3. Salt the edamame and rub it in.
  4. Removing any excess fuzz gives them a fresh color after boiling.
  5. Add salt to plenty of boiling water, and boil the edamame over high heat for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Drain in a strainer.
  7. (While boiling, sample one, and adjust the boiling time as desired.)
  8. Salt the drained edamame, and use a fan to cool them quickly.
  9. Caution: Cooling them by running them under cold water will reduce the flavor.
