Galveston Gourmet's Lasagna-Style Casserole
- 1 lb ground chuck or 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 garlic clove, pressed
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 12 ounces v-8 vegetable juice
- 6 -8 ounces egg noodles, cooked
- 1 bunch green onion, chopped
- 1 cup sour cream
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, finely shredded
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Brown meat; drain and stir in garlic, salt, pepper and V-8 juice.
- Simmer on low for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine cooked noodles, chopped onions, sour cream and cream cheese, mixing well.
- Grease a 2 quart casserole dish and place noodle mixture in the bottom of the casserole.
- Top noodle mixture with the meat mixture.
- Cover meat with all of the grated cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
