Banana Fudge ( Kele La Halwa ) Recipe
- 150 ml ghee
- 600 gm banana peeled and minced
- 220 gm sugar
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg pwdr
- 1/2 tsp cardamom pwdr
- Heat 2 Tbsp.
- of the ghee in a heavy pan.
- Add in the banana and the sugar and cook on a low heat stirring all the while to prevent it from sticking.
- Keep drizzling in a little of the ghee from time to time till all the moisture evapourates and the mix becomes sticky and brown.
- Add in the powdered spices and stir.
- Remove from the heat when the mix leaves the sides of the pan.
- Don't overcook as the halwa will turn hard.
- Pat the halwa into a deep platter cold and cut into squares or possibly slices
- This is a recipe for a halwa that is one of the many delicious ways of preserving fruits.
- This dish makes a good dessert or possibly an instant energy snack.
- Serves 4
