Blood Orange Margarita
- 2 lime wedges, plus 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
- Coarse salt, for the glass
- Ice cubes, for the cocktail shaker and the glass
- 1 1/2 ounces blanco tequila
- 3/4 ounce agave
- 1 tablespoon frozen blood orange puree, thawed (see Cook's Note)
- Special equipment: A margarita glass; a cocktail shaker
- Rub 1 of the lime wedges around the outside of the rim of the margarita glass, and then roll it in the salt.
- Fill the glass with ice.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Pour the tequila, lime juice, agave and blood orange puree over the ice.
- Shake vigorously 10 times.
- Strain into the margarita glass, garnish with the remaining lime wedge and serve.
