Ginger Pork Shogayaki

  1. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
  2. Chop the apples and onions into 1 cm chunks.
  3. Grate the ginger.
  4. Saute the onions, apples, and 1/3 of the grated ginger.
  5. Marinade the pork in half of the sake and 1/3 of the ginger.
  6. Combine the sauteed apples, onions, and ginger to the remaining sake and ginger to make the sauce.
  7. Spread out the marinated pork and coat with the katakuriko.
  8. Dust off the excess.
  9. Add the remaining marinade to the sauce.
  10. Lightly fry both sides of the pork in oil.
  11. Add the sauce from Step 4 and coat while continuing to fry.
  12. It's done.
  13. Serve up!
