Big Melt-In-Your-Mouth Brown Sugar-Apple Cookies
- 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 12 cup butter (unsalted and room temp)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup unsweetened chunky applesauce
- 12 cup butter (unsalted and room temp)
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- vanilla extract (optional) or almond extract (optional)

- Preheat oven to 375.
- In medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together.
- 2.
- In large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat 1/2 cup butter and brown sugar until fluffy and light.
- add the egg; beat until smooth (for around 2-4 minutes).
- with mixer on a low setting, alternate between the flour mixture and applesauce beginning and ending with the flour mixture (DONT OVERMIX).
- 3.drop cookie dough by heaping tablespoons, 2 inches apart (I did 6 to a cookie sheet).
- Bake until light/medium golden brown and/or insert a toothpick in the center of the cookie and it comes out clean.
- around 10-14 minutes.
- transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
- 4.meanwhile make the frosting: in a large bowl, using electric mixer, beat 1/2 cup butter (and prefered extract), gradually add confectioners' sugar until smooth.
- 5. when cookies are cooled frost cookies with the buttercream and add sprinkles or any type of decorationy.
