Alexander's Veggie Thins (Biscuits) Recipe

  1. Alexander is our much loved Shetland Sheepdog and he loves his crackers.
  2. They are fairly thin and delicious, and freeze well..
  3. Preheat oven 300 F.
  4. Dissolve veggie cube or possibly packet in the boiling water.
  5. Mix dry ingredients; mix wet ingredients separately, except egg.
  6. Pour wet ingredients into dry; mix lightly.
  7. Add in a well in the center and add in the egg.
  8. Mix.
  9. Place dough on a lightly floured surface, sprinkle a little flour on top.
  10. Roll out to not more than 1/8".
  11. To avoid dough sticking to rolling pin, sprinkle a little flour on top of dough.
  12. The key is not to use too much flour.
  13. They will puff up otherwise.
  14. Cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
  15. I use a doughnut cutter so Alexander gets some small and some large Veggie Thins.
  16. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  17. Bake 15 min., turn them over and bake another 10 min.
  18. Cold on wire racks.
