Fried Apple Rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 large egg
- 6 cooking apples
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp or 2 ground cinnamon
- In a small bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Set aside.
- In a separate bowl whisk together until well combined the yogurt and egg.
- Whisk the flour mixture and yogurt mixture together.
- Set aside.
- Slice the apples and then using a round cookie cutter cut rings out of the middle of the apple.
- In a large deep skillet, heat the oil over a low-medium.
- Dip the apple rings in the batter then add to the skillet as you go along and cook in batches.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the batter has become golden brown.
- Turn only once to cook the other side.
- Remove and place on kitchen roll.
- In another separate bowl combine well the sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the apple rings while they are still hot.
- Serve immediately.
