Pot Roast, Crock Pot Style
- 3 lbs boneless chuck roast, trimmed and cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 onion, peeled and cubed
- 3 -4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup carrot, peeled and cubed
- in large bowl, combine flour and spices, mix together.
- add pieces of beef.
- a few at a time, coat with flour mixture.
- In large skillet over medium heat brown beef, working in batches until well browned.
- Remove to plate, Pour broth into same skillet, bringing to boil, stirring.
- turn off heat.
- in crock pot.
- (slow cooker) place cut up carrots, potatoes, onions, and beef.
- Pour hot broth over all.
- Cover and cook for 8 hours on low.
