Blackberry Or Raspberry Jam Cake

  1. Cream together 2/3 cup of butter and 1 1/2 cup sugar. Separate 3 egg yolks, reserving the whites.
  2. Slightly beat the yolks and mix with 1 cup of jam; whip into creamed mixture.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, ground cloves and cinnamon.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternately with 1 cup sour milk. Beat the 3 egg whites and fold into the batter.
  5. Add vanilla. Bake in 3 lined layer cake pans in 350u0b0 oven for 25 minutes or until done.
  6. Test with a toothpick.
  7. Cool and frost with cream cheese frosting or a vanilla frosting.
