Bean & Bacon Sandwiches Recipe
- 6 slices bread
- 1 (15 ounce.) can pork & beans
- 12 sm. slices yellow cheese, approx. 1/2x2 1/2"
- Bacon, 1/2" slices
- Place bread on broiler pan.
- Broil till bread is lightly browned on top side.
- Remove from oven.
- Turn browned side down.
- Drain pork and beans of excess liquid.
- Spread beans proportionately on bread, covering as close to edge as possible.
- Top with small slices of cheese.
- Cover cheese with bacon slices.
- Try to lay the bacon strips flat so they will cook proportionately.
- Broil open faced sandwiches till cheese melts and begins to turn light brown.
