Dutch Apple Pie Recipe
- 1 Keebler ready crust graham cracker pie crust
- 1 lg. egg yolk, slightly beaten
- 5 1/2 c. sliced, cored, peeled cooking apples
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice (omit if apples are tart)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, finely packed
- 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/3 c. butter, at room temperature
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Brush bottom and sides of crust proportionately with egg yolk - bake on cookie sheet till light brown - about 5 min.
- Remove crust from oven.
- Combine apples, lemon juice, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 3 Tbsp.
- flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Mix well and spoon into crust.
- Mix remaining ingredients with fork or possibly pastry blender till crumbly.
- Sprinkle topping mix proportionately over apples.
- Bake on cookie sheet till topping is golden brown and filling is bubbling, about 50 min.
- Cold on wire rack.
- Serve at room temperature.
- Serves 8.
