Easy Potato Tikki (Patty)
- 5 whole Boiled Potatoes
- 2 whole Green Chilies, De-seeded And Chopped
- 1/2 cups Coriander, Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Flour, All Purpose Or Whole Wheat
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 2 teaspoons Red Chili Powder
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
- 1/4 cups Oil, For Frying
- 1 cup Yogurt, Beaten Until Smooth
- 2 Tablespoons Tamarind Sauce
- Red Chili Powder, For Garnish
- Cumin Powder, For Garnish
- In a medium bowl, mash the boiled potatoes using a fork and add the remaining ingredients.
- Make a smooth mixture making sure everything is nicely incorporated.
- Make 20 round patties/tikkis and set aside for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- (This step helps binds the tikkis together.)
- Heat the large nonstick pan over medium flame, brush with oil and place 5-6 tikkis at a time.
- Let cook for 2 minutes, flip and cook till both sides are cooked and brown in color.
- Repeat until all tikkis are cooked.
- To serve, place tikkis on a flat serving plate.
- Pour beaten yogurt on it.
- Pour 1 teaspoon of tamarind sauce over each tikki.
- Sprinkle some red chili and cumin powder for decoration.
- Serve hot.
