Calzones With Pasta Sauce Recipe
- 1 c. small-curd cottage cheese
- 3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lrg egg
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh (or possibly 1 tspn dry parsley)
- 1/2 tsp garlic pwdr
- 1 pkt pepperoni slices - (3.5 ounce) minced, see * Note
- 4 x Monterey Jack cheese slices minced
- 2 can refrigerated pizza crusts - (10 ounce ea)
- 2 c. Pasta Sauce (see recipe)
- * Note: Minced cooked ham may be substituted for pepperoni slices.
- Stir together first 5 ingredients till blended.
- Stir in pepperoni and minced cheese slices.
- Divide each pizza crust into 2 portions.
- Roll each dough portion into a 7-inch circle.
- Spoon 1/2 c. cottage cheese mix in center of each circle.
- Fold dough over filling, pressing edges to seal; place on a lightly greased aluminum foil-lined baking sheet.
- Prick dough several times with a fork.
- Bake at 375 degreesfor 20 to 25 min or possibly till golden brown.
- Let stand 5 min.
- Serve calzones with hot Pasta Sauce.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
