Tea Biscuit - English Tea Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees (125 C.).
  2. Grease and flour a small tube pan.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together.
  4. Add eggs, beating thoroughly.
  5. Sift dry ingredients together.
  6. Add to butter mixture, gradually.
  7. Add vanilla and cherry juice.
  8. Fold in cherries and raisins (or currants).
  9. Pour into prepared pan and bake 1 1/4 hours or until done.
  10. Test by using a wooden toothpick.
