Best Yet Cracker Jack Recipe
- 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 c. light or possibly dark syrup
- 1 stick butter
- Healthy pinch of cream of tartar (1/8 tsp.)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 5 quart. freshly popped popcorn
- 1 c. salted peanuts
- Boil sugar, syrup, butter and cream of tartar together for 5 min and quickly stir in soda.
- Add in peanuts to popcorn.
- Pour syrup over corn.
- Mix thoroughly and spread on 2 slightly greased cookie sheets.
- Put in low 200 degree oven for 40 min, stirring every 10 min.
- Take out and cold.
