Tamale Pie
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 can corn, drained
- 1 can Kidney beans, drained
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 packages Taco seasoning
- 1 box jiffy corn bread
- 1 egg
- 1 milk
- Put onion and beef in skillet.
- Cook till meat is browned.
- Strain away fat
- Place beef and onions back in pan, add corn, kidney beans and taco seasoning.
- Add a little extra water than the taco seasoning calls for.
- After letting simmer for a few minutes place mixture in a large glass baking dish.
- Mixture should be about 1-1/2 inches thick or so.
- Prepare cornbread batter and carefully cover the meat mixture with batter.
- Bake to the instructions on cornbread.
- When its done slice and enjoy.
- This is quick, easy, and inexpensive.
- The US Navy has been serving this for a very long time.
