Hush puppies

• 1 cup self rising flour
• 1 cup cornmeal
• 12 teaspoon baking powder
• 12 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 13 cup buttermilk
• oil, for the frying

1. Mix flour,cornmeal,baking soda,baking powder,sugar,eggs,onion,and buttermilk well.
2. Set bowl aside and cover.
3. Let rise.
4. Spoon a ball of mixture and put gently into the hot oil of about 365.
5. When they are golden brown take out and drain on papertowels.
