All-American Barbecued Beans
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup ketchup
- 14 cup white vinegar
- 14 cup water
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 30 ounces great northern beans, rinsed and drained (2-15 1/2oz cans)
- 16 teaspoons Equal sugar substitute (16 pkts, 5 tsp Equal For Recipes, or 2/3 cup Equal Spoonful)
- Cut bacon into 1"-inch pieces; cook in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Add onion and cook until bacon is crisp and onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, water, mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in beans.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in Equal.
