Jetty's Apple Dumplings
- 2 granny smith apples, peeled quartered and cored
- 1 (12 ounce) package refrigerated crescent dinner rolls (Big and Flaky)
- 4 teaspoons cold butter (each tsp cut in half)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 12 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- In a saucepan combine orange juice, water, vanilla and cup of sugar.
- Bring to a slow boil on stove, stirring often until reduced to 1/2 volume.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Open package of crescents, unroll dough and slice into 8 equal rectangles (ignoring the perforations).
- Combine cinnamon and 2 tbsp sugar in a small bowl.
- Take an apple quarter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture covering well, place 1/2 butter pat on apple and roll in a section of dough.
- Make sure dough covers entire apple quarter making sure all seams are sealed.
- Place in greased 8 x 8 baking pan.
- Repeat for all apple quarters.
- Pour orange juice mixture over dumplings.
- Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over top of each dumpling.
- Bake 30 minutes or until dumplings are browned.
- Serve warm with Ice Cream or Whipped Cream.
