One-Step Lasagne
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 32 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. basil leaves
- 1 tsp. oregano leaves
- 12 oz. carton creamed cottage cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 9 pieces lasagne, uncooked
- 12 oz. sliced Mozzarella cheese (or 3 c. shredded)
- 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- In large skillet, brown ground beef, drain.
- Stir in spaghetti sauce, water, basil, and oregano. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In small bowl, combine cottage cheese and egg.
- In ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan, layer 1/3 of noodles, 1/3 of meat sauce, 1/3 of cottage cheese mixture and 1/3 of Mozzarella cheese; repeat layers ending with Mozzarella on top.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil; bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil; bake an additional 25 to 30 minutes.
- Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
- Makes 8 servings.
