Birthday Party Chicken Recipe
- 3 chicken breast halves with bones & skin
- 1/2 teaspoon Chinese 5-spice pwdr
- 1/4 c. Tamari sauce
- Paprika
- Mix pwdr with sauce and pour over chicken pcs; let stand in refrigerator overnight.
- Put chicken, skin side up, on broiler pan.
- Sprinkle paprika.
- Pour out the sauce and throw away.
- Bake at 450 degrees (after chicken has been sitting at room temperature 1 1/2 - 2 hrs), for 20 min on top rack of oven (15 min for small breasts).
- Turn heat down to 350 degrees and cook for another 10-15 min, depending on size of breasts.
- Skin will be crisp.
- Usually, the 20 minute, 15 minute method is fine for average-large breast halves.
