DIY Vanilla Extract

  1. Wash and dry 2 four-ounce resealable bottles.
  2. Place 2 of the split vanilla beans in each of the bottles.
  3. Fill each bottle with 4 ounces of vodka and seal tightly.
  4. Gently shake the bottles and store in a cool, dark location.
  5. Shake the bottles every few days for 2 months.
  6. The vanilla extract is ready to use as early as 2 months, however at least 3 months is recommended.
