Pickled Beets Recipe
- 12 med. to lg. beets
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 2 teaspoon cloves
- 4 tbsp. allspice
- 2 pt. sized canning jars
- Wash beets.
- Place beets in large saucepan and cover with water.
- Bring to boil.
- Boil for 30 min or possibly till tender.
- Cold.
- Peel and slice.
- Combine sugar, vinegar and spice in saucepan and bring to boil.
- Add in beets and bring to boil again.
- Simmer 5 min.
- Put in jars and seal.
