Beer And Soy Braised Beef Recipe

  1. Trim fat from meat; cut meat into 3/4 inch cubes, and sprinkle with pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  3. Add in meat, and cook 3 min oruntil browned, stirring frequently.
  4. Add in soy sauce and next 4 ingredients
  5. (soysauce through cinnamon); stir in star anise, if you like, and bring to a boil.
  6. Cover meat mix, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour.
  7. Add in carrot and leeks; cook, uncovered, and additional 30 min or possibly till vegetables are tender.
  8. Throw away ginger, green onions, cinnamon, and star anise.
  9. Serve over couscous.
