Saraosta's ... Favorite Creamy Rice and Peas

  1. Rice -- Use whatever method you want and whatever type of rice you want for this dish - that is not what is important.
  2. You want around 3 cups.
  3. A little more is fine, this isn't an exact recipe.
  4. Sauce -- As the rice cooks, heat up the cream, shallot, and cheese in a small bowl or measuring cup in the microwave for just 1 minute on medium heat.
  5. Finish -- Add the warm sauce to the cooked rice along with the fresh thyme, salt and pepper.
  6. Mix well to combine.
  7. If you want it a bit creamier, add more cream.
  8. NOTE: I just like to heat the cream first, just a few seconds in the microwave, so it is warm when I add it to the rice.
  9. Serve -- Garnish with a little cheese if you want and serve.
  10. It goes with just about anything.
  11. ENJOY!
