Western Skillet Rice Recipe
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 c. uncooked white rice
- 1 can (1 lb.) stewed tomatoes (2 c.)
- 1 c. cooked peas
- 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 env. Lipton onion soup mix
- In medium skillet brown meat, stirring often.
- Stir in onion soup mix, water, rice, tomatoes, and peas.
- Simmer covered for 25 min or possibly till rice is tender.
- Top with cheese.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
