Touch of Orient Chicken - Oven Variation
- 1100 g skinless chicken drumsticks
- 12 cup soy sauce
- 14 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
- 1 (425 g) can crushed tomatoes
- 1.
- Spray dutch oven with cooking spray and place over medium heat.

- Brown chicken over medium

- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and tomatoes.

- Pour sauce over chicken.
- 5.
- Cover and cook in oven at 180c for 1.5 hours or until chciken in cooked through and tender.
- Optional: Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- To Freeze: Cool, bag, label and freeze.
- To Serve: Warm in microwave to desired temperature
- Note: To toast sesame seeds: Preheat oven to 180c.
- Spread sesame seeds in a 9-inch pie or cake pan.
- Toast about 5 minutes or until golden.
- Or toast seeds in a dry skillet over low heat 3 or 4 minutes (watch carefully as they can burn very quickly).
