Plain sooji idli/rava idli/semolina idli

  1. Combine the semolina, curds, coriander, salt, green chili and 1 cup of water in a bowl, mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Add fruit salt to the batter and mix well.
  3. Grease the idli moulds with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of oil and pour 2 tbsp of the batter into each idli mould.
  4. Steam in a steamer for 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.
  6. Handy tips :
  7. Fruit salt contains sodium so the salt has to added accordingly.
  8. Boil the water in the steamer before putting the idlis to steam.
