Eastern Shore Coleslaw Recipe

  1. Shred cabbage and onion into a large bowl with a cover.
  2. You may add in optional ingredients for a slightly different flavor.
  3. Pour sugar over the shredded vegetables.
  4. In a saucepan heat the remaining ingredients to a boil.
  5. Pour over the vegetables and sugar; cover immediately.
  6. Chill overnight.
  7. Stir before serving.
  8. Makes alot but it keeps for about a week in the refrigerator without getting strong or possibly bitter.
