French Onion Dip

  1. In a large skillet cook onion in hot butter over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until tender and golden, stirring occasionally.
  2. Cool.
  3. In a blender or food processor combine cooked onion, soup, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Cover and blend or process until nearly smooth.
  5. Transfer dip to a small bowl.
  6. Stir in chives.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  8. Serve with assorted dippers such as chips or baby carrots.
