Girly Grilled Cheese
- 1 package (16 Oz. Package) Thick Cut Bacon
- 16 ounces, weight Havarti, Gouda, Or Your Favorite Cheese
- Butter, Softened
- 1 loaf French Bread, Sliced Into 10 Medium Slices
- 5 teaspoons Dijon Mustard
- 2 whole Granny Smith Apples, Sliced Very Thin
- Cut the bacon in half and fry.
- Set aside on a paper towel to drain.
- Slice your cheese, thinly, and set aside.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Spread 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard each on five slices of the bread.
- Warm a skillet over medium heat.
- Place a piece of bread (with Dijon mustard) butter-side down on the skillet.
- Layer two strips of bacon with a few slices of cheese and then a few of the thinly sliced apples.
- Cover with another slice of bread, this one without any mustard on it.
- Fry the sandwich in the skillet until one side has browned, then flip over.
- Do not raise the heat above medium or the bread could burn!
- Do not squish the sandwich down with the spatula.
- Once both sides are browned, remove to a plate and allow to rest a few minutes before cutting in half and serving.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Make 5 sandwiches.
