tamales dulces (sweet tamales)
- 1 4 lb bag of maseca
- 1 1/2 lb veggie shortning
- 2 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 can sweet cream corn
- 2 can crushed pineapple
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 15 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- mix all ingredients together until smooth and mix barely sticks to ur hands
- in the tamale pot add water till barely covers steam plate, place corn husks on steam plate
- soak corn husks in hot water until soft
- take a corn husk place a large handful of masa mix on the middle.
- fold over one side, then fold up the bottom side, then fold in the other side and place in pot.
- repeat steps until all masa is used.
- place extra husks on top of tamales then cover with the lid.
- put on high cook till boils, then lower to med-low and cook 3 hrs
